By using University Halal Market San Diego (the "Service"), you agree to the following Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional guidelines we may provide. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service. These Terms apply to all customers placing orders through our website.
2. Description of Service
University Halal Market San Diego (UHMSD) is a web-based platform that allows customers to place orders for halal meat products online for in-store pickup and payment. Key features include:
- Browsing our product catalog (e.g., meat cuts), stored locally for convenience.
- Building a cart with selected items and submitting an order with your name and phone number.
- In-store pickup and payment upon order completion.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.
3. User Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to place an order through the Service.
- The Service is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
4. Order Process
- Placing Orders: You may browse our product catalog (stored in
products-storage
), add items to your cart (stored in cart-storage
), and submit your order with your name and phone number. Orders are fulfilled by our butcher and available for pickup at our San Diego location.
- Payment: Payment is handled in-store at the time of pickup. We do not process payments online.
- Availability: Product availability is subject to stock. If an item is out of stock, we’ll contact you using the provided phone number to adjust or cancel your order.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your order by contacting us before it’s marked as "ready." Once ready, cancellations are at our discretion.
5. User Responsibilities
- Accurate Information: You must provide accurate name and phone number details when placing an order. You’re responsible for ensuring we can contact you regarding your order.
- Pickup: You agree to pick up your order in-store and pay at the time of pickup. Failure to pick up may result in order cancellation without refund of effort.
6. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for illegal, harmful, or unauthorized purposes.
- Submit false or misleading order information.
- Attempt to disrupt, hack, or misuse the Service.
7. Intellectual Property
- Our Rights: The University Halal Market San Diego website, including its design, content (e.g., product catalog), and branding, is owned by us and protected by copyright and other laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without permission.
- Your Data: You retain ownership of the personal data you provide (e.g., name, phone number, cart details). By using the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, store, and process this data to fulfill your order.
8. Data Storage and Deletion
- Local Storage:
- Products Data: Our product catalog (e.g., names, prices, descriptions) is stored in your browser’s local storage under
products-storage
to display available items during your session.
- Cart Data: Your selected items and quantities are stored in
cart-storage
to maintain your order across page reloads.
- This data persists until you clear your browser cache or, for cart data, until your order is completed.
- Server Storage: Your order details (cart, name, phone number) are stored in Supabase, our cloud database provider, until your order is completed (status: "complete"). Once completed, we delete your order data from our servers.
- Security: We use reasonable measures to secure your data via Supabase’s features, but we’re not liable for breaches beyond our control.
9. Termination
- By You: You may stop using the Service at any time. To delete your order data before completion, contact us at universityhalalmarket@gmail.com.
- By Us: We may cancel your order or restrict your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or for any reason at our discretion, with or without notice.
- Data Deletion: Upon order completion or cancellation, your order data is deleted from our servers, subject to legal obligations. Local storage data (
products-storage
and cart-storage
) remains on your device until cleared.
10. Limitation of Liability
- The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied (e.g., availability, accuracy of product details).
- We’re not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (e.g., missed pickups, unavailable items) arising from your use of the Service, to the fullest extent permitted by California law.
- Our total liability is limited to the value of your order, if applicable.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or losses arising from your use of the Service, your submitted data, or your violation of these Terms.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted here with an updated “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the new Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of California, though we encourage you to contact us first at universityhalalmarket@gmail.com to resolve issues informally.
